ABOUT:
There are a lot of things that I could and will tell you about myself, but I’m not sure they help you know who I really am.
I could tell you that I've been a pastor at the Mount since April of 2018. I could tell that I really enjoy working out. I could tell you that I've been married to my sweetheart, Ruth, since 2002 and that God has blessed us with five children.
I could tell you that as a pastor some of my favorite moments happen at coffee shops over a cup of coffee, God’s Word and prayer. I could tell you about some of my favorite things about being a pastor, but that’s not who I really I am.
If you want to know who I really am, you have to listen to my Grandpa Monthie. He wrote a poem about me when I was born. It goes something like this: What’s he gonna be? A preacher, a teacher, a farmer just like me? What’s he gonna be? We’ll have to wait and see. What’s he gonna be? I’ll tell you, a Christian, just like you and me.
That’s who I am. I am a child of God, adopted by my baptism, cleansed in his blood. That’s who I really am.
And what do I want? I want to share Jesus with you. I'll bend over backwards and do whatever it takes so that I can share Jesus wherever you're at in life. He is the world's Savior - mine and yours. And I want you to know it, believe it, and then live it. I want this truth to change and transform you.
That's my prayer for you, for this church, for this community.
