Monday’s Prayer: Jesus gets us.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Hebrews4:15NIV
O LordJesus, this verse brings me such comfort in every way. It saves me. It sets me free. I supports me. That simple truth that you did not sin is my very salvation. If you had come and you had lived and then had sinned, I would have no salvation. But you didn’t! You were perfect. And so your sacrifice for me was just what it needed to be. And so your life for me was just what I needed as my own righteousness. This truth saves me and sets me free from fear. I see another truth here, dear Jesus. You suffered and struggled in temptation. It was hard for you. It was a fight for you. You suffered against temptation and you conquered it. You get me and understand what I struggle with. You know the lure of sin in my life because you felt the pull of it. And so, dear Jesus, come to my aid and deliver me from sin and temptation. You know what this is like. Please help. I know that you can. I know that you will. I know that you do. Thank you. Amen.
