Wednesday’s Prayer: An Anchor.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19
Lord God, your Word and your promise is my anchor. The winds of life blow me to and fro, but I will not be moved. The waves of trouble threaten to sweep over me, but I will not be moved. The circumstances of my life may threaten to dash me against the rocks, but I will not be moved; I will not be crushed.Your word and promise, O God, gives me a sure and certain hope.I am not just drifting.I am not being threatened.I will not be crushed because you, Lord, are with me.When the winds begin to blow and the waves begin to grow, teach me, dear Savior, to run to you and your Word.Teach me to set my anchor there, in your promises because it is an anchor for my soul.Everything else that I might cling to is like a bunch of weeds on the shore, quickly and easily pulled up.Teach me to set my anchor in your Word.It is a firm and secure anchor for my soul. Amen.
