Wednesday’s Prayer: In Christ’s Grip
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.– Hebrews 10:23
Lord God, my grip is, at times, quite weak. I’m working really hard to hold on tight, but I sometimes feel like I’m losing it. I’m working really hard to believe what I’ve been taught, but sometimes it doesn’t seem to stick. I know the things that I should believe, but I often have trouble accepting that it’s true. O Lord, I’m trying to hold on but my grip is weak. I pray, Lord, hold tight to me. Like a parent who tells their child, “Hold my hand,” and then proceeds to grip the hand of their child so tight that even if the child lets go, the parent will never let go. Lord God, hold tight to me and never let you. You are not just faithful to your word and promises, but you are also faithful to me whom you made, whom you redeemed, whom you justified and even sanctified. Grip me, O God, and never let go. Amen.
