Saturday’s Prayer: We are not!
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:39
O Lord, this is who I am. I am your child. You bought me with the blood of your Son and you clothed me in his righteousness. O Jesus, you poured out your Holy Spirit and filled me with him. I am a temple for the Holy Spirit. O Father, I am your dear child, whom you are not ashamed to call your own. Jesus, I am your brother and you are not ashamed of me. And as such I do not belong to this who shrink back and am destroyed. I’m holding you, dear Jesus, by faith. I’m gripping tightly to this confidence that I have by faith that I am yours and you will not let go. Save me, O God, for I am yours. You made it so in my baptism. You assured me of it at your table. Your word tells it to me every day. I do not belong to those who shrink back. I am one of those who have faith, who grips you tightly, and am saved. Amen.
