Tuesday’s Prayer: Faith’s Offering.
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. Hebrews 11:4
Lord God, what I do really have to offer you? What can I bring before you, the Lord of all? The earth is yours, for you made it. Your hand formed the dry ground. The seas is yours, for you gave it boundaries and filled it all things that swarm in it. All the animals of the earth are yours. I too am yours both because you created me and because you redeemed. What can I bring before you? O Lord, by faith, you receive my life, my offerings, my works as an offering before you. You don’t need it, but you still love to receive what I bring to you in faith. By faith, you smile on the things I do for you. O Lord, today, take my mouth and the words spoken in faith as an offering before you. Let all my words be pleasing in your sight. And Jesus, take my hands and the things that I do, the things that I write, the things that I hold, and the things that I give as a sacrifice to you. Let all the things that my hands handle be done in service to you and those in my life. Father, take my feet and the places they take me. Let my feet be fitted with the gospel of peace so that wherever I go, your Word goes with me. Great God in heaven, take all that I am and receive it. Let me whole life rise up before you as a sacrifice of praise to you. O Lord, my whole life is yours. Receive it, O Lord. Amen.
