Wednesday’s Prayer: Pleasing in God’s Sight.
Hebrews 11:5-6 - 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Lord, who am I that you should be pleased with my life? Who am I that you should be pleased with me? Who am I you would speak about me and my life with pleasure and joy and declare it to the world? Who am I that you would say for all the world to hear, “This is my child. I am pleased with you. I love you.” Oh God, you are pleased with me and what a wonder this is! That you have taken all my sins and destroyed their power to condemn me, nailing them to the cross. That you have taken all the goodness of Christ and given me credit for the life he lived. That you have adopted me into your family and changed my name. That you claim me as yours and are not ashamed of me. O God, who am I that you are not ashamed of me? That you are pleased with me? O God, I am yours. Amen.
