Tuesday’s Prayer: Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3-4 - You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.
Lord, you are so good. The peace of my heart and in my life doesn’t come from me. It doesn’t even come from my circumstances. It comes from you because you are my Rock, my eternal Rock. It comes from you because you are steadfast and sovereign, ruling over all things. I know why I lack peace in my life, Lord. I confess that it is because I’m seeking peace in other things and not in you. My lack of peace come from a lack of trust in you. Forgive me, Lord. Help me, I pray, turn my heart to you so that I fully trust you. My heart is so weak in this, Lord. It is easily drawn to trust in things that are not you, in things that cannot save. Change my heart, O God, and turn it toward you. Because in you, Lord, is perfect peace. You are trustworthy. You are my Rock, an eternal Rock of refuge to which I can always run. You are a Rock, behind which I can always hide and be safe. You are my Rock, who rules all things for my good. You are my Sovereign, ruling all things for my eternity and my eternal good. O Lord, give me perfect peace because you are my Rock. Amen.
