Monday’s Prayer: God’s Servant, James

Monday’s Prayer: God’s Servant, James.

James 1:1 - James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.

Lord God, I thank you that you have spoken to us in such powerful and authoritative ways about faith and life.  You inspired James and called him to be your servant.  You put your words into his mouth for me to hear, to believe and then to do.  Forgive me for those times when I have heard your Word and then haven’t done it.  Forgive me for those times when I have refused even to hear what your Word says.  Forgive me and speak into my life again by your Word to rebuke and correct me.  Forgive me and restore me by that same word that comes from the mouth of your servants.  And then guide and direct my life by him that I may follow and obey you all the days of my life.  By that word remove the inconsistencies that exist between the things that I believe and the things that I do.  Speak into my life powerfully by your servant that I might live out my faith every day.  Amen.
