Tuesday’s Prayer: Promises Fulfilled.
So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Joshua21:43-45
O God, once again you prove yourself faithful. Once again you prove that you are faithful and true to your word. What you say, you will do. What you promise, you will fulfill. What confidence this instills in my heart! Because if – and there is no “if” here – you kept your promises in the past, then you will certainly do so again. You have proven yourself over and over as the faithful God, full of love and compassion, who always keeps his promises. You have never changed your mind or pulled a promise from the table. You have always followed through and done what you said. Fill my heart with this confidence day after day. Fill up my heart with these reminders that you always keep your promises and instill confidence in my heart. You will do what you have promised to do for me, dear Lord. Do it! I can’t wait to see the fulfillment of your promises in my own life. Amen.
