Monday’s Prayer: Jesus is better. Think about it.
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. Hebrews3:1
Lord Jesus, sometimes all it takes is for me to stop and think about what I’m doing and what beliefs are driving me. My natural course of action is to take the path of least resistance, the path that won’t be opposed, the easy way. That’s natural. But just because it is easier doesn’t mean it’s better. I need to stop and think about it. My natural course of action is to chase what glitters and shines like a lure in the lake. I chase what shines. I chase what is more attractive. It draws me like a tractor beam. But that’s doesn’t mean I should let myself be drawn. Lord Jesus, help me to stop and think. More than that, help me to stop and think about you. Teach me to stop and remember you, my great apostle and high priest. You are greater and better than all things. Your ways are better than my ways. Your salvation is full and complete. Your works are done fully and eternally. Help me to fix my thoughts on you today and follow you wherever the path leads. Help me to deny myself, to run away from sin, and to chase you. Help me to rest my heart and my soul in your finished work of salvation. Lord Jesus, you are better. Help me to remember this and think on you today. Amen.
