Friday’s Prayer: Watch out for each other.
But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. For we have become participants in Christ if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start. Hebrews3:13-14CSB
Lord Jesus, the community of believers is such a great gift from you and a something that I need powerfully. We can help each other in our watching and waiting for you. My fellow believers need to me to be watching out for them. I can see things about their faith and life that are against your Word. I can see the chinks in their armor that are often hidden from their eyes. I can see what poses a danger to them and their faith. Give me love for them and a Spirit-worked gentleness to address their weakness, to point it out to them, and to turn them back to you. And Lord, I need my fellow believers to be watching out for me. They can see things in my life and my faith that are against your Word. They can see chinks in my armor that are hidden from me. Give me an openness and humility to receive their correction, their instruction and their encouragement as they seek to turn me back to you. Help your community of believers to be an encouragement to each other so that together we will stand before you on the last day. Amen.
