Every Drop of Jesus Day 7

If you want a little bit more to think about as you read, check out this blog post

Read John 1:1-51

Points to Ponder:

  1. As you read the whole chapter as a unit today, highlight some of the very important verses in this section.

  2. Why did you pick those verses?  Why are they verses you want to give greater attention to?

John 1:47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” 48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” 49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”

Lord God, I continue to marvel that you have chosen me and have made me your own.  In this world, where so many people refuse to believe in you and who even laugh at the idea of you, you have given me birth into your family.  In this world where so many people reject you, by the outpouring of your Holy Spirit I don’t!  I continue to marvel that you have made me your own and have given me the rights of a child of God!  What is more, you when you look at me you see me as one without guile or trickery. When you look at me, you don’t see sin or evil.  You don’t see my sin, you see me as one without deceit. You see me as sinless! That is only because you have taken my sin on yourself and have taken the blame for it yourself.  O Lord Jesus, I continue to marvel at all your graces me. Help me to live with a confidence and courage that is fitting for a child of God.  You are mine and I am yours!  Nothing can shake me now.  Amen.
