Day 20 - John 4:39-42
Points to Ponder:
1. What did these Samaritans learn about Jesus? What name did they give him?
2. Why did they believe that Jesus was the Savior of the world?
3. Why do you believe that Jesus is “the Savior of the Lord?”
And they told them woman, “We no longer believe because of what you since we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.” – John 4:42
Lord Jesus, you truly are the Savior of the world. You are the Savior of the Jews, the Samaritans, the Gentiles. You are the Savior of Americans and Mexicans. You are the Savior of every race of people who live in this world. You are the Savior for the people of every language in this world. All people of all time – you are the Savior. And we needed it! We were stuck in sin and death. We were doomed to eternity in hell and, because of our nature, we couldn’t do anything to change that. But Lord Jesus, you came and snatched me from the jaws of hell. You came and threw down my enemy, the Devil. You brought me into the kingdom of God. O Lord, Jesus, I believe this! I believe that you are the Savior of the world, even my Savior! This is what I believe. Keep me in this faith, dear Savior. And help me that I would keep this message going to all the people whose life I intersect today and every day. This message is for them. Give me words to share the gospel with them and give them faith to believe it. Amen.
