Day 41 - John 7:32-44
Points to Ponder:
1.Why are many unable to understand what Jesus is talking about when he talks about leaving?
2.What is Jesus talking about when he talks about leaving (v 33-34)?
3.Why do you understand what he is talking about?
4.What does water do for our physical bodies?
5.Since Jesus is talking about the Spirit when he talks about living water flowing from within, what does the Spirit do for our faith and life?
Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.” He said this about the Spirit. – John 7:37-39.
Lord Jesus, you have sent out your Spirit on the world. On the day of Pentecost, you poured out your Spirit on those who believed in you. On the day of my baptism, you poured out your Spirit on me and he has filled me from within. O Spirit, sustain me by your Word and by your indwelling. Give me a strength, a grit, a resolve to press on even when it’s hard. Satisfy me in the morning with your unchanging word that I might be glad, joyful, and serve you all my days. Strengthen by your power that I might serve you boldly, confidently, and with deep resolve. And most of all, O Spirit, well up in me like a spring and give me life with you and with the Father and the Son for all eternity. Jesus, I come! Give me your Spirit that I might live with you forever. Amen.
