Day 32 - John 6:25-29
Points to Ponder:
1. What did the crowd do when they realized that Jesus had gone to the other side of the lake?
2. Why did they chase him down like that?
3. What did Jesus really want to give them?
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. – John 6:27
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” – John 6:29
Lord Jesus, there are so many things that I am seeking from you. I want peace. I want trouble to go away. I want health. I want healing. I want blessings and enjoyable things to come into my life. My prayers to you are full of petitions and requests from you. I want all kinds of things from you. And Jesus, you do love to give me things. You love to hear my prayers and even promise me the Holy Spirit. You do love to pour out blessings on me, but I see here that you want to give me something more, something for my soul. Those are the things you want me to pursue. You want to give me yourself for my eternity and to satisfy the deepest needs of my heart. You want to satisfy me for all eternity and I don’t even have to work for it. You just give it to me by faith. Lord Jesus, set my heart on things above and, then, satisfy me with those things into all eternity. Amen.
