Day 69 - John 12:12-19
Points to Ponder:
1.What happened when Jesus came into Jerusalem?
2.What kind of buzz was there about him?
3.Why were the disciples slow to connect the dots about Jesus?
His disciples did not understand these things at first. However, when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him. John 12:16
Lord Jesus, your Word is perfect, pure and an unbroken whole. It is all intimately connected even though I don’t immediately see the connectedness of it, even though I don’t always see how it fits together. The disciples didn’t either. The Old Testament prophecies about you were unfolding in front of their very eyes. Zechariah was happening! Isaiah was happening! Malachi was happening! And it wasn’t until Jesus finally rose from the dead and was glorified in front of their eyes that the dots were finally connected and they had their divine “aha” moment. O Holy Spirit, continue to teach me. Continue to open my eyes so that I can see and understand the wonderful things written in your Word. Continue to give me eyes to see and ears to hear the wonders and marvels of your Word. As I read it, study it, meditate on it, and inwardly digest it, help me to have these divine “aha” moments when the dots of your perfect, pure and unbroken word are connected in my mind and heart. Help me do this, dear Spirit of God! Amen.
