Day 71 - John 12:27-36
Points to Ponder:
1.What was the reason that Jesus came?
2.What was the reason that all of this happened as it did that day?
3.When Jesus had spoken earlier about a seed going into the ground, what was he talking about?
4.What does Jesus want from us and for us as long as there is day?
Jesus answered, “The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become children of the light. – John 12:35-36
Lord Jesus, there is so much that would confuse and confound me. There is so much that I don’t understand. There are many days when I am lost and confused, struggling with direction and purpose. There are many days when darkness presses down on me. But this much I do know. I know you. You were lifted up from the earth to draw all people – including me! – to yourself. You came to bring light to my life. And so, dear Jesus, even though I do not always know where in life I am going, I am certain about my eternity. Even though I am confused by my purpose and direction in life, I am never confused about this. My life is about glorifying you. Help me to do it. Take my life, dear Jesus, and let it all be for your glory and for the eternal good of people around me. Take all of me, every moment, every member of my body, and let it be all for your glory. Lord Jesus, there is much I do not know. But the things I know give me confidence and certainty as I live my life. Fill me with greater and greater certainty about these sure things, dear Jesus. Amen.
