Day 74 - John 12:1-50
Points to Ponder:
1.As you read the whole chapter as a unit today, highlight some of the very important verses in this section.
2.Why did you pick those verses? Why are they verses you want to give greater attention to?
So they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir,” we want to see Jesus.” John 12:21
Lord Jesus, I want people to see you. As I go out into this world, I want people to see you. You are the Light of the World and I want to reflect your light in my life so that people praise our Father in heaven. You have done great things for me and I want people to know the things that you’ve done for me. I want people to see you when they see me. I want people to hear you when they hear me. But, Jesus, I must confess too often I make it about me. Too often I am concerned about how people see me and hear me. Too often I am concerned about people seeing me, noticing me, and praising me. I am too often concerning about hearing praise from people. But Jesus, your praise is more important to me. And greater than that, I really want people to be praising and glorifying you, not me. Forgive me for this focus on myself that leaves you on the sidelights instead of in the spotlight. Forgive me and help me to shine the spotlight on you in all that I do. In this way, O Spirit, help me to show people Jesus with my whole life. Amen.
