Day 85 - John 14:1-31
Points to Ponder:
1.This chapter is full of promises. Which one is your favorite and comforts you the most?
2.Why do you think Jesus was so promise-full at this time?
3.During which life circumstances do you need these promises of Jesus?
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:25-27
Dear Jesus, If it were not for your words about eternal life and your Spirit who keeps “texting” them to me, I would have lost all of my peace in this life. The world gives outer peace but I usually cannot afford the resort where they pedal it. But you give the inner peace of knowing everything is right with you and will become right for me in the end. That inner peace guides me through difficult days. Thank you for the inner peace that comes from faith. Help me to shine with that peace so others in turbulent times will reach for the peace the see in me because of you. Amen.
Jesus’ peace starts in the heart where grace settles and rearranges thoughts until they neatly stack in every circumstance.
