Day 114 - John 20:10-18
Points to Ponder:
1. What kept Mary from recognizing Jesus?
2. What was it that finally opened her eyes?
3. How does God “calling you by name” open your eyes? (Look up Isaiah 43:1-3)
4. What amazing truth does Jesus reveal when he calls God “my Father and your Father; my God and your God?”
Supposing he was the gardener, she replied, “Sir, if you’ve carried him away, tell me where you’ve put him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” Turning around, she said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!! – which means “Teacher.” – John 20:15-b16.
Lord Jesus, so much you did for me to open up the eyes of my heart and to grant me faith. I was thoroughly blind in my life and couldn’t see you; I didn’t even want to see you. Yet, Jesus you came at my baptism and opened my eyes to see you. You opened my eyes to see you as my Savior, my Lord, my God, and my teacher. Lord Jesus, thank you for granting me such a faith! I pray, always give me eyes to see and a heart to believe that you are indeed my Savior. Help me to learn from you and follow you my whole life long. Amen.
