But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 10:17 NIV
Most people in this world boast about what they have accomplished. Most people in this world boast about what makes them look good. Most people boast about how hard they work, what things they built, what successes they had. But Paul doesn’t. Paul boasts about things that make him look weak and powerless. Paul boasts about defeats not victories. I see what Paul is doing, Lord. Paul is finding his confidence and his boast in you. Lord Jesus, give me the same boast. I can look back at a day or a week and feel either good or bad about it based on what I got done, based on what still needs to be done, and even based on how things turned out. In so many ways I think just like the world does. Help me, rather, dear Jesus, to find my confidence, my joy, and my boast in you. Let me boast and brag about what you have done for me in cleansing me of my sins. Let me boast and brag about what you have done in my life and even through my life. You have done great things God. And you have brought me along in it. Help me to boast in you alone.
In Christ, I have much to brag about. I am a child of God. I am a son of God. In Christ, I am a royal priest, chosen by God, and precious to him.
