Ascension at the Mount!

Ascension Gathering

Ascension has become one of the forgotten festivals of the church. Forty days after Jesus rose from the dead, he ascended into heaven and took his seat at God’s right. Now he reigns far above all power and authority.

At Mount Lebanon, we’re trying to bring back Ascension. This is a big day for us and we want to make it bigger.

Join us this THURSDAY (5/26) at 5 pm for a cookout. Brats, hotdogs, and chips will be provided. Bring something to share - a salad, a dessert, or anything else that you’d love to share. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. We’ll set up to serve inside and (weather-permitting) we’ll eat outside. If the rain comes, we’ll eat in the community room.

Then, at 6:30 pm we’ll gather for an evening vespers service of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.

We’d love to have you for even part of the afternoon/evening around God’s Word celebrating our ascended Lord.

Coming Soon!

This summer we want to make a way to dive into God’s Word and our life in this world. We’re planning FOUR Wednesdays for STUDY, FELLOWSHIP, and WORSHIP.

June 1 – June 15 – June 29 – July 13

5:00 pm.

We’ll start at 5 pm with a study. We’ll dig into a variety of topics over the course of the summer. Topics may include things like: What is going on in the world and how should I respond? What are the ethics and politics of Jesus’ kingdom (The answer isn’t what you think)? What does it mean for us to be confessional and biblical Christians? What does it mean for us to live as exiles? It’s going to be a challenging and encouraging course of study for us. There will be childcare provided for the children. We’ll study from about 5 – 6 pm.

6:00 pm.

Potluck Dinner at 6 pm. Everybody brings something to pass and we’ll eat what we bring!

6:30 pm

Vespers and Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. We’ll end our night with a quiet service of prayer and mediation and be done by around 7 pm.
