There are so many things that would lure, pull or even push us away from the church and from Jesus. Things like the busyness of life, pressure from family or friends, and so many other things would do it. Jewish Christians in the years after Jesus ascended into heaven felt that pressure. It was legal for them to be Jewish, but illegal for them to be Christian. All they had to do was go back to their Jewish roots and all would be fine. The writer strongly urged them, "No! Jesus is better!" And he says the same to us. Jesus is better. He is the better priest, the better brother, the better family. He givers us a better home, a better eternity. Everything is and gives us is better than anything the world would offer. Yes, Jesus is better. What we hold and believe is better.
