Following Jesus and obeying his word is a tall order. Our own sinful flesh is opposed to it naturally. But add to this the additional lure that the world draws us with. It is a test we daily face. Joseph faced it when he served in Potiphar’s house. God teaches us how to past the test and promises to help us in temptation. A sermon on Genesis 39.
The Story of Joe Jacobson - #1 - The Meaning of Garments
Garments have significance and meaning. For Joseph, having garments meant one thing and having those garments taken away, mean another. In this first sermon in the series, we’ll explore the meaning of garments and what garments we have and wear not matter our circumstances. A sermon on Genesis 37:1-11.
The Kingdom of God and... #4 - The Message
But what should we say? How should we say it? As everyday evangelists, we often get caught up in what we should say. We want it to matter. We want it to work. We want it to save them. In this final sermon, we hear Jesus’ counsel to the man out of whom he had just cast a legion of demons: “Go home! And tell how much God has done for you!” He tells us where to go. He tells us what to say. This is our simple strategy and our straightforward message. God will do the rest.
The Kingdom of God and... #3 - Food
Jesus was accused of many things while he walked this earth. Among the many things that brought him the “stink eye” of those around him was those with whom he ate. They said all kinds of things about Jesus because of the people he ate with. But that was part of Jesus’ loving strategy. This was an act of love. He joined these sorts of people while he ate with them. This was an act of mission. He used this dinner time and the opportunities it provided to talk about the kingdom and God’s work in the world.
The Kingdom of God and... - #2 - Our Time
There are 24 hours in a day. We can’t make more of them. It is zero sum.
There are seven days in a week. We can’t extend the week. People have tried to create a ten day week to try to make more time. It didn’t work. We can’t make more or less time, we can only use the time that we have in as wise a way as possible.
Each moment, each hour, each week, even each month and year is a gift from our Sovereign Lord who has wisely and mightily ordered all things. He has given us this time so that we might know him and so that we might share him. Yes, the Triune God holds all people and times in his hand. He is the Lord of time and eternity. He is the Lord of our lives and our time. He has given each us a certain amount of time during which we might serve him. We want to use that time wisely and well. And so, we’ll make the most of every opportunity, seizing every appointment that the Lord sets for us. This Sunday, as we continue to meditate on the mission of God of which we are a part we will see how the Lord uses our time for the sake of the people whom God places in our path. A sermon on Ephesians 5:15-17.
The Kingdom of God and... - #1 - Forward Momentum
The kingdom of God keeps pressing forward. It is not static or still. The Day of Pentecost is evidence of this. People from all over, from all walks of life, from multiple languages, cultures and ethnicities heard and went home with the gospel and so the kingdom went forward into all the world. This is still the case today. We have our own little “Pentecost” today and then we go out into our world with the Spirit empowering us to testify about our God and Lord. John 15:26-27
Unstoppable Kingdom - #7 - The Church's Imperative
God's Book begins with God speaking and acting. It ends with the Church, with God’s people, speaking. Three times in the final verses of this closing chapter of the closing Word from God, the church speaks: “Come!” It’s such an interesting thing when the church commands God and dares to tell him what to do.
We’re considering this word from the Church as we call to our Savior, “Come!” We’ll be looking at Revelation 22:12-20.
Unstoppable Kingdom - #5 - Measuring Faithfulness
Today, five young people will be confirmed and they will make a promise to be faithful. But what exactly does that mean and how do we do it? We'll consider how to measure faithfulness as we look at Revelation 2:8-11. A sermon by Pastor Nate.
Unstoppable Kingdom - #4 - ReUnited
What do you think the best part of heaven will be? When we get to that place which has been prepared for us since Jesus ascended into heaven, what will be the best part? I submit to you that the best part of heaven will be God’s constant presence with us. Along with that comes the absence of all evil, sin, and all that comes along with it. Along with that comes the eternal and ever-present reality of all the things promised. We were made to live with God; in heaven, this will be a perfect reality. This weekend we’ll be looking at Revelation 21:1-7.
Unstoppable Kingdom - #3 - The Great Immortals
This week, the vision continues to light up our hearts. We’ll continue to get a glimpse of the future. We’ll be looking at a vision with John and looking over his shoulder as he gazes at those around the throne. We’ll be looking at Revelation 7:9-14.
Unstoppable Kingdom - #2 - Facing the Future
Everybody wants to know the future, especially when we’re going through some hardship or difficulty. We want to peer into the future. The risen and reigning Jesus not only know what the future holds, but he holds the future in his hands. A sermon by Pastor Nate on Revelation 5.

We live by faith, not by sight. Jesus promises to be with us while we live in this veil of tears. A sermon on Revelation 1:4-18 by Pastor Paul.

What shall we do with Jesus - #3 - Unstoppable King
Just before he entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, likely, while he was still with Zacchaeus, Jesus told a parable to help the crowd understand the kingdom of God. What will you do with this teaching from Jesus? A sermon on Luke 19:11-40 by Pastor Nate Bourman.
Crosswords - #5 - Forgiveness
A sermon about forgiveness based on – Isaiah 44:21-23. By Pastor Paul Kruger.
What shall we do with Jesus? - #2 - Falling out of Trees
Zacchaeus simply wanted to catch a glimpse of Jesus. He was a chief tax collector and was considered repulsive to so many. Yet, Jesus invited himself over for dinner at his house. And when he did, Zacchaeus practically fell out of the tree. His life was changed. Not only did he follow Jesus, but he responded with radical generosity and kindness. What will you do when Jesus invites himself over for dinner? That’s our question this week. We’ll be looking at Luke 19:1-10.
